Researchers at the University of Bath in the UK concluded that the fear of not looking good was more of a motivator to work out than the gains that you make from exercising. Researchers at the University interviewed 281 male and female undergraduates and got half to imagine a physically attractive version of themselves.
Those who were asked to imagine they were succeeding in getting fit became less motivated because they no longer had this fear or not looking good. Positively need to throw away my cigarettes and easylite lighter and get fit!
